Remote Work Can Mean Bringing Everything to Work
Ever heard the saying, “Leave it at the door”?
It was absolutely easier to leave outside stressors at the door when going to a physical office was a common norm. Today’s environment doesn’t allow us to “leave it at the door” and more importantly you shouldn’t have to. You are a whole person. You have responsibilities, demands, unexpected life events and more.
This is normal, common and you are not alone. Start by leading your team differently and acknowledging that we all have lives and the work is part of life; life is not part of work.
If your team seems especially overwhelmed with the sudden change of this new work lifestyle, be there to support them and help them navigate this new and complex journey.
Lead with empathy, EQ, and a balance between your head and heart.
