The power of an open question to a teammate, peer, or direct report shows the individual you care about them. It’s a leaders job to understand how to support their employees by understanding the employees whole self.

Ask your teams questions and be prepared for some differences among the group. The more you pay attention to their individuality, the more your team will succeed in the long run because their engagement and fulfillment from the job will be meaningful.
