LIVE: Advocating for LGBTQ+ young people (Ep 003)

You should invest in the talent pipeline, right? That’s what leaders keep saying. Start by investing in middle and high school.

But the real question is WHY and HOW do you do it!

That’s why I’m so excited to have Bryson Rose (He/Him/His) joining us today to discuss how you can be an advocate for LGBTQ+ young people. We are partnering with Hetrick-Martin Institute to talk about advocacy and capacity building… so tune in.

Highlights include:

  • How Advocacy and Capacity Building supports HMI’s mission
  • The difference between equality and equity
  • What leaders can learn from the experiences of those traversing these spaces and experts
  • Systems and how to help change those systems
  • Leadership metrics. Who do we see as capable?
  • How Hetrick-Martin Institute celebrates our young people’s intersectionality

Bryson Rose is a trainer and activist currently serving as the Director of the Center for LGBTQ Youth Advocacy and Capacity Building at the Hetrick-Martin Institute. Bryson has spent the past 5 years in the role collaborating with government agencies, educational institutions, and NGOs to build capacity around supporting the needs of LGBTQ-identified youth.
